Joint Press Statement on B.E.O.F Award

(Bayonne)- Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti would like to congratulate the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) for their recent award of $250,855 from the Department of Community Affairs.

“The BEOF has long been an outstanding organization in our community. This award will further help them better serve our city as well as Hudson County. This state award is a big win for our community. These funds will improve the quality of life for our disadvantaged residents countywide.” Said Chiaravalloti (D-Hudson)

Samantha Howard, Executive Director of the B.E.O.F commented on the award stating: “The BEOF recognizes that this funding helps us to address one of the most pressing needs of those who fall on hard time. We will use these funds anecdotally, for qualifying residence, by not just paying back rents or security deposits, but to also address those who find themselves in a chronic
homeless situation.”

The Department of Community Affairs has awarded the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation a $250,855 award from the Prevention of Homelessness program. This award will provide funds to provide temporary assistance to homeless households or households in imminent risk of homelessness due to rental eviction.
